The punch bowl belonged to General George Doolittle. In the will of Laura M. Doolittle, donor's ancestor,it states: "To my son and daughter...I give the punch bowl which came to my husband from his ancestor who was an officer in the Revolutionary Army, the bowl having been a testimonial to him from brother officers (presumably Freemasons, as was he.")
